The project BG0026 “Strengthening the capacity of the local authorities of the North-West Planning Region of Bulgaria for attracting foreign investors, institutional support for investments and it solutions for administrative services” (InvestNorthWest) was implemented thanks to the financial support provided through the EEA Grants 2004 – 2009, jointly financed by Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway.

EEA grants aim to reduce economic and social disparities within the European Economic Area (EEA) and to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor and the beneficiary states.

InvestNorthWest project was selected under the priority sectors “Human resources development” and “Regional policy and cross-border activities” and aims to reduce the economic and social disparities within the North West Region of Bulgaria through increasing the level of foreign investments and improving the business climate.

The direct effect of the project is the capacity building – raise of the competence and skills of the local administration of the North West Region for attraction of investments and provision of IT services.

Project target groups are the regional and municipal administrations of the districts of Lovech, Montana, Pleven, Vidin and Vratsa.
